Most prestige hire companies in Sydney will not put anyone under 25 in a performance car. Our performance tier starts at 20 for everything except the M3, which needs 25. That single rule is why a lot of people find this page: a 22-year-old who wants a Mustang for a birthday weekend, a 23-year-old who wants a Mustang for a formal, someone in their early twenties who has been told no everywhere else. Full unrestricted licence, Young Driver Cover at +25% of the daily hire under 25, and the same handover as anyone else.
The other thing that decides it is the excess. The performance tier sits in our standard cover band, so the included excess is $3,000 and the bond matches it: the same figures as a Range Rover, not a Lamborghini.

Which sports car to hire
For precision: the BMW M3 Competition
Three of them, and they are not the same car. The 2016 F80 at $400 a day is the stock car: 331 kW, rear-wheel drive, the last M3 with hydraulic feel in the steering. Every M3 needs a driver of 25 or over. The second F80, at $530 a day, is a Stage 1 car making around 440 kW, which is a different experience altogether and only for someone who knows what that means. For presence: the Chevrolet Camaro 2SS
A 6.2-litre V8 in a car that looks like it should be in a film. $700 a day, based at Mascot, and the one most often booked for a formal or a photoshoot. It is the loudest car on this page.
For accessibility: the Ford Mustang GT

For the family that wants an M badge: the BMW X6 M Sport
At $535 a day. 250 kW, all-wheel drive, five seats and a big boot. It is the performance tier's SUV and the sensible choice for a week with visitors who still want something with a bit of go.
The rules on the performance tier
- Minimum age 20 on the Mustang, Camaro, C63 S, Taycan and X6, with a full unrestricted licence; 25 on every BMW M3. P-platers and learners cannot drive any of our cars. Drivers 20 to 24 pay Young Driver Cover at +25% of the daily hire.
- Identity and licence check before handover, including the Australian Government Document Verification Service.
- Kilometres: an allowance is included and shown on your confirmation; extra kilometres at the rate on the confirmation.
- Fuel: 98 RON only on the petrol cars, returned at the level you received it. The Taycan comes back charged to the level it left.
- Payment: card, cash or bank transfer on the rental. Card carries a 2% surcharge.
- Tolls and fines during the hire are yours. Wear on tyres and brakes beyond normal use is charged, which matters on this tier more than any other; the tuned M3 article explains how we assess it.
Bond and excess on the performance tier
The damage excess on this tier is $3,000, and the bond held on your card is the same figure as whichever excess you choose. It is a pre-authorisation, not a charge: the money is reserved, not taken, and released when the car comes back clean. Three cover options bring the excess down, priced per trip rather than per day:

Where the cars are, and the roads they are for
The Camaro, Mustang and Taycan live at Mascot near the airport. The three M3s and the C63 are at Parramatta. The X6 is at Sefton. Delivery anywhere in Sydney is quoted by distance with the booking. What is the bond on a sports car?
The bond equals the excess on the cover you choose: $3,000 with no cover, $2,500 with Basic ($60 per trip), $2,000 with Premium ($110) or $1,200 with Max ($160). It is a pre-authorisation, released after the car is returned undamaged.
Can a P-plater hire a sports car?
No. Every car in our fleet requires a full unrestricted licence. P1, P2 and learner licences cannot drive any of them.
Do you deliver sports hire cars in Sydney?
Yes, anywhere in Sydney for a distance-based fee quoted with the booking. Or collect free from Mascot, Parramatta or Sefton depending on the car.
Which sports car is best for a formal?
The Camaro 2SS or Mustang GT for the arrival, the M3 or C63 if four people are travelling together. Note that a Year 12 student cannot legally drive any of them; our formal guide explains the chauffeured option.
Can I take a sports car on a track day?
No. Track use, timed events and driver training are excluded on every car in the fleet.
