  • Delivered across Sydney
  • Bond and fees shown before you pay
  • Never swapped to a lesser car

If you live in Bondi you already know the two problems with hiring something special: the car is always at the airport, and when you get it home there is nowhere to put it. Our host network solves both. The car comes to your address, and the first road you drive is Old South Head Road rather than the M5.

Why Delivery Matters More in Bondi Than Anywhere Else

Every suburb has a reason to prefer delivery over a depot run. Bondi has three, and anyone who lives here already knows all of them.

Parking is the whole problem

Campbell Parade, Hall Street, Curlewis Street and the entire grid behind the beach are resident-permit parking with genuinely aggressive enforcement. Collecting a car from Mascot means leaving your own car somewhere for the duration of the hire, and in Bondi that is not a small ask. With delivery, your car keeps its spot and the hire car takes the driveway, or we time the handover so the swap happens in one motion.

The drive to Mascot is worse than the map suggests

It looks like fifteen minutes. On a Friday afternoon, or any weekend between October and March, it is not fifteen minutes. Add the return leg and a depot collection can cost you two hours of a one-day booking before you have driven anything you are paying for.

The driveways are steep and the streets are narrow

Ben Buckler, Dover Heights and the Vaucluse side have some of the steepest residential driveways in Sydney, and the older blocks behind the beach have lanes built for cars considerably smaller than a G-Wagon. When we deliver, the person handing the car over knows what they are driving and where it can physically go. That is a meaningfully different experience from being handed keys at a counter and finding out yourself.

The Exotic Fleet, and Which One Suits Bondi

There are three cars in our Exotic tier. They are deliberately very different, and in an eastern-suburbs context they suit quite different bookings.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

The 2018 G63: 430kW from a twin-turbo V8, 0-100 in 4.5 seconds, five seats, and a shape nobody fails to recognise. This is the Bondi car. It handles the steep driveways without complaint, it seats five so the whole group travels together, and it photographs against the beach as well as anything ever has. It is also our most-booked wedding vehicle, and the eastern suburbs are where most of those bookings come from.

Mercedes-AMG GT

A front-mid-engined 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 350kW, rear-wheel drive, two seats, with the gearbox mounted over the rear axle for near-perfect balance. This is the one to book when the drive is the point rather than the destination. It is low, so the steeper driveways need care, and it will carry exactly one passenger.

BMW M3 Competition G80 xDrive

390kW, 0-100 in 3.5 seconds, all-wheel drive, four doors and five seats. Quicker than the AMG GT and infinitely more practical. If you want the occasion without giving up the ability to carry people and luggage, this is the sensible answer, and it is the easiest of the three to live with in tight eastern-suburbs streets.

Where People Actually Drive From Bondi

Bondi sits at the start of one of the better short drives in Sydney and within reasonable reach of two genuinely great ones.

Old South Head Road to Watsons Bay

The obvious one, and it earns it. North through North Bondi, up Military Road past Dover Heights, and out to Watsons Bay and The Gap. Twenty minutes each way, the harbour opens up on your left, and there are half a dozen places to stop for photographs. This is the drive most of our Bondi bookings do first, usually within an hour of the handover.

The Rose Bay and Vaucluse loop

New South Head Road through Rose Bay and Vaucluse, past Nielsen Park, and back through Bellevue Hill. Slower and more residential, but the harbour views through Vaucluse are the best in the city and the road surface is excellent.

South through Maroubra to La Perouse

Down through Coogee and Maroubra along the coast, then out to La Perouse and Botany Bay. Around forty minutes, and the stretch past Malabar Headland is genuinely enjoyable. It also puts you close to Mascot if you happen to be returning the car to the depot rather than having it collected.

The Royal National Park

The proper drive. South through the eastern suburbs, across the Captain Cook Bridge and into the park at Audley. Sir Bertram Stevens Drive is sealed, sweeping and tree-shaded, and it is about an hour from Bondi. Continue south and you reach Bald Hill above Stanwell Park, then the Sea Cliff Bridge, which is the most photographed stretch of road in New South Wales. Allow a full day if you are going that far.

The Old Pacific Highway

The longer option. Across the Harbour Bridge and north to the old road between Berowra and the Hawkesbury River. It is heavily policed and deservedly so, but the sequence of corners and the surface quality are the best within an hour of the city.

What Bondi Books These For

Weddings and elopements

The eastern suburbs run on this. Bondi Icebergs, the Pavilion, Watsons Bay and the Gunners Barracks all sit within a short drive, and the G-Wagon is the vehicle we send most often. The practical reasons matter more than the aesthetic ones: it is tall, so getting in and out in a gown is straightforward where a low coupe is a genuine struggle, and it seats five so the couple and attendants travel together rather than in convoy.

Milestone birthdays

A weekend with the AMG GT paired with a Royal National Park or Southern Highlands run is one of our most common thirtieth and fortieth bookings.

Photo shoots and content

Bondi is one of the most shot locations in the country and the cars work hard here. Commercial shoots must be declared on the booking so the correct cover is in place. This is not bureaucracy for its own sake; standard hire cover does not extend to commercial production and the difference matters if something goes wrong.

Visiting and returning

A large share of our eastern-suburbs bookings are people home from overseas for a few weeks who want something worth driving while they are here. Delivery to a family address rather than an airport counter is the entire appeal.

How Booking Works

1. Dates and address

Enter your dates and Bondi address at checkout. Availability and any delivery fee are confirmed before you pay, not after.

2. Licence and identity

Verified in person at handover. A full Australian or recognised overseas licence held for the required minimum period. Provisional licences are not accepted on exotics. Overseas licences not in English need an International Driving Permit alongside.

3. Security bond

A refundable hold placed on your card at pickup and released once the vehicle is returned and inspected. Exotic bonds are higher than the rest of the fleet, and the figure is shown before you confirm.

4. Handover

We photograph the car with you present, walk you through the drive modes and the nose lift on the low cars, and confirm fuel and kilometres. The same happens on return, which is what makes the bond release straightforward rather than a negotiation.

5. Collection

We collect from your address at the agreed time. No depot run at either end.

If the G-Wagon is booked

We never move you down a tier. If your dates are taken, these are the exotic cars we will offer instead, and we will tell you plainly if none of them is free rather than substituting something lesser on the day.

Exotic tier

Mercedes-AMG GT

  • 350kW
  • 4.0s
  • RWD
  • 2 seats

Front-mid-engined V8 and the sharpest drive of the three. Two seats, and low enough that steep Dover Heights driveways need care.

Exotic tier

BMW M3 Competition xDrive

  • 390kW
  • 3.5s
  • AWD
  • 5 seats

Quicker than the AMG GT with four doors and a boot. The easiest of the three to live with in narrow eastern-suburbs streets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you deliver to Bondi?

Yes. Bondi is one of the strongest coverage areas in our host network, along with North Bondi, Bondi Junction, Tamarama, Bronte, Dover Heights, Vaucluse, Rose Bay and Coogee. Enter your address at checkout to confirm delivery and any fee.

Where will you park it when you deliver?

We coordinate that with you before the day. Most Bondi handovers happen in a driveway or a timed swap with your own car so you do not lose a resident space. Tell us the street when you book and we will tell you honestly if it is going to be difficult.

Will a G-Wagon fit up my driveway?

Almost always, and it is the most capable of the three on steep or short driveways because of its ground clearance. The AMG GT is the one to ask about, as it is low. Send us a photo of the driveway if you are unsure and we will tell you before you book rather than on the day.

Is delivery cheaper than collecting from Mascot?

There is a delivery fee and it is shown before you pay. Once you count the round trip and what you would otherwise pay to park your own car, delivery is almost always better value on a one-day hire.

How far ahead should I book?

As far ahead as you can for a specific car on a specific date. There are only three vehicles in this tier and the wedding and formal seasons book out first. For a flexible weekend drive, a week or two is usually enough.

Can I take it on a track day?

No. Circuit and track use is not permitted on any of our vehicles under any circumstances.

Is there a kilometre limit?

Yes, stated on your booking before you pay. Additional kilometres are charged at a set rate rather than estimated afterwards.

Can someone else drive it?

Only if they are listed as an additional driver and meet the same licence, age and history requirements. An unlisted driver voids cover completely, so this is not something we are flexible about.

What if it rains?

The G-Wagon and the M3 are both all-wheel drive and entirely comfortable in Sydney weather. The AMG GT is rear-wheel drive with substantial torque and asks for more care. If your dates look wet and you were leaning towards the GT, tell us and we will give you an honest recommendation.

What happens if I damage it?

Your liability is capped at the excess stated on your agreement, assessed against the handover photographs taken with you present. Usage charges such as fuel and excess kilometres sit outside that cap.
