- Delivered across Sydney
- Bond and fees shown before you pay
- Never swapped to a lesser car
Bankstown and the suburbs around it run the largest weddings in Sydney, and the car question here is not which one but how many and whether they match. A convoy that looks deliberate is a different photograph from five cars that were separately available, and the difference is decided months before the day.

Part of our wedding car hire Sydney guide.
Booking a convoy
Tell us the date and how many cars. Multi-car sets are priced and held together rather than as separate bookings, which is the only way to guarantee they match.
The Question Here Is How Many, Not Which One
Almost every other wedding page we write is about choosing a car. This one is not, because in South West Sydney the car is rarely the hard part. The hard part is the number, the match and the co-ordination.
Weddings around Bankstown, Punchbowl, Greenacre and Condell Park routinely run guest counts that would be considered very large elsewhere in the city, and the bridal party scales with them. A party of twelve is ordinary. A party of twenty is not unusual.
That changes the whole shape of the booking. A single beautiful car is not a solution to twenty people. It is one part of a solution that also has to include capacity, and the mistake we see most often is couples spending the entire car budget on the hero car and then improvising the rest with whatever friends are driving.
The improvised part is what shows up in the photographs.
What Actually Makes a Convoy Look Deliberate
There is a real difference between four identical cars and four nice cars, and it is far more visible in photographs than most people expect.

Convoy photographs are almost always taken from the side, either static in a line or moving. From that angle what registers is silhouette and colour, not badge. Four cars with the same profile read instantly as a set. Four different premium SUVs read as a car park, even when every individual car is more expensive than the ones in the matched set.
This is why we point large weddings at the four Range Rover Sports rather than at a mixed group of higher-value cars. It is not the most expensive answer. It is the one that photographs as a convoy.
The other half of it is that they have to actually be held together. Cars booked as a set are allocated as a set. Cars booked one at a time, or from different suppliers, are four separate hopes that converge on one Saturday, and the failure mode is that one of them arrives in a different colour or a different trim.
We have written the detail of this up in matching a wedding car fleet, which is worth reading before you commit to a number.
Church Streets Were Not Designed for This
The churches that run the most weddings in this part of Sydney run them back to back through a Saturday, and the streets around them absorb a great deal of traffic in short bursts.
St Charbel's at Punchbowl is the clearest example. It is a major Maronite church with a very high wedding volume, and on a Saturday the party before yours is departing while yours is arriving. The street holds two weddings' worth of cars, guests and photographers at the changeover.
The practical technique for a convoy in that situation is to arrive as a group but set down in sequence. Bring the cars to a staging point a street or two back, then send them to the door one at a time in the order you want them photographed. Trying to bring four cars to a busy church door simultaneously produces a jam, not a photograph.
It also solves the parking question, because three of the four cars never need to stop at the door at all.
Drivers Are the Real Constraint
Four cars need four drivers. This is obvious and it is still the thing that most often goes wrong on a large self-drive wedding.
Every driver has to be named on the booking and meet the driver rules. Every driver has to be available from before the getting-ready stage through to the reception. And critically, every driver has to be somebody who is not needed in the photographs at the exact moment the cars need moving.
On a large wedding the people you would naturally ask - brothers, cousins, groomsmen - are precisely the people who are in the wedding. The convoy stops the moment the photographer starts, unless somebody has thought about this in advance.
The workable arrangements we see are either a small number of dedicated drivers who are not in the bridal party, or a staging plan where the cars are parked once and left until they are next needed rather than being repositioned constantly. Both work. Neither happens by accident.
Our article on who drives wedding cars goes through the licence and eligibility side properly, which matters more when you are naming four people than when you are naming one.
The Shape That Usually Wins
For a large South West Sydney wedding, the configuration that most often works out best is not the most expensive one.
It is one hero car for the couple, and people-mover capacity behind it. The G-Wagon or a Range Rover Sport at the front, and the eight-seat Kia Carnival GT-Line, or two of them, carrying everyone else.
This wins on three counts. It costs less than four matched cars. It carries more people. And it requires fewer drivers, which as above is usually the binding constraint rather than money.
What it gives up is the convoy photograph, and for some couples that is the entire point of the exercise. If it is, book the matched set and accept the driver problem as the cost of it. Just make the trade deliberately rather than discovering it three weeks out.
If you want the numbers behind that comparison, what a self-drive wedding fleet costs sets the three common shapes side by side.
Timing a Large Convoy
Large weddings do not run late because of any single delay. They run late because a convoy amplifies every small one.
One car leaving five minutes behind schedule is five minutes. Four cars each leaving five minutes behind, at slightly different times, arriving through different sets of lights, becomes a twenty-minute spread at the church door, and the ceremony cannot start until the last one arrives.
Two things fix most of it. Give every driver the destination address rather than telling them to follow, because a convoy that relies on following breaks at the first amber light. And set a single staging point with a hard time, so the group re-forms before the arrival rather than trying to hold formation across ten kilometres of Saturday traffic.
Our wedding morning timeline lays out the sequence with the buffers where they actually need to be.
Delivery, Bond and Booking
Our depots are at Parramatta and Mascot, so a Bankstown wedding is a delivery. For a multi-car booking that is generally what you want anyway: the cars arrive where the day starts, rather than requiring four drivers to be somewhere an hour earlier.
Multi-car bookings are priced as a set. The bond, the delivery and the full hire price are shown before you pay rather than assembled on the day. The bond is a hold on a card, not a charge.
Matched sets on spring Saturdays are the scarcest thing we hold. If your date is fixed, the useful thing to do is check it now, because whether four matching cars are available on that specific day is a fact that should shape the rest of your planning rather than being discovered late.
Late Finishes and Getting Four Cars Home
South West Sydney receptions run late, and a convoy that arrived in daylight has to leave in the small hours.
With one car this is a manageable question. With four it is a logistics problem, because four cars need four sober drivers at the end of a wedding, and the pool of people who fit that description at one in the morning is considerably smaller than it was at ten in the morning.
The arrangement that works most often is to leave the cars at the reception venue overnight and collect them the following day, with the hire period set to match. It costs an extra day on the booking and removes the problem entirely. Tell us that is the plan when you book rather than discovering the constraint on the night, and we will price it that way from the start.
The alternative is to nominate drivers in advance who know they are driving and are not drinking. That works too, as long as it is agreed early and the people concerned actually accept it rather than being volunteered.

If the Range Rover Sport is booked
We never move you down a tier. If your dates are taken, these are the luxury cars we will offer instead, and we will tell you plainly if none of them is free rather than substituting something lesser on the day.
Four matched Range Rover Sports
- 4 cars
- 20+ seats
- One silhouette
- Held as a set
The largest genuinely identical set we can put together, and the one built for a South West Sydney convoy. Booked together they are held together, which is the only way four cars actually match.
Hero car plus two people movers
- 3 cars
- 5 + 16 seats
- Best coverage
- Lower cost
For a very large bridal party. One car that has to look right at the church door and two that have to move twenty people, which is the honest split for most weddings this size.
Large weddings book earliest
A matched set of four is a much scarcer thing than one good car. If the date is set, check it now rather than after the venue.
Guide rates, weekday winter pricing. Longer hires taper; the exact total for your dates is shown before you pay.
The bond held on your card equals the excess of the cover you choose. It is a pre-authorisation, released after return.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you supply four or five matched wedding cars?
Four matched Range Rover Sports is the largest genuinely identical set we hold, and they are the cars most often booked as a convoy. Beyond four we can co-ordinate rather than match, and we will be clear with you about which of those you are getting rather than letting you find out on the day.
How does pricing work for a multi-car wedding booking?
As a fleet rather than as separate hires. Holding four cars for one Saturday is a different commitment from four hires on four days, so tell us the number and the date and we will price the set. The bond and any card fee are shown with it.
What is the advantage of booking all the cars from one place?
They stay matched. Cars held together for one booking leave together, in the same condition, in the same colours. Cars booked separately from separate suppliers are a hope rather than a plan, and the photographs show it.
Do you have anything that seats more than five?
The Kia Carnival GT-Line seats eight, and there are seven-seat options in the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS. For a large bridal party the usual shape is one hero car for the couple and people movers behind it.
Can the convoy collect from Bankstown?
Our depots are at Parramatta and Mascot, so a Bankstown wedding is normally a delivery. For a large set that is usually what you want anyway, because collecting four cars on the morning means finding four drivers an hour earlier than you otherwise would.
How far ahead should a large wedding book?
Twelve months is not too early for a matched set of four on a spring Saturday. The single hero car can often be found late. Four of the same car on the same day cannot.
